Where will you go today? With stories, the possibilities are endless! Building from the Norman B. Leventhal Map Center’s exhibition, “Shakespeare’s Here and Everywhere,” Michelle LeBlanc, the Map Center’s director of education, and Dory Klein, education and outreach coordinator, will take participants on a journey to the many settings of William Shakespeare’s plays. Using The Tempest as a launching point, children will explore the culture and events that informed Shakespeare’s choice of setting and think about the roles that place, identity, and travel play in stories. Then the group will work together to create a story of an epic journey and then work individually to creatively map the group’s story. After the workshop, head to the Map Center to continue exploring Shakespeare’s world!

Ages 7-12.
