Laurie Kahn

Laurie Kahn’s films have won major awards, been shown on PBS primetime, broadcast around the world, and used widely in university classrooms and community groups. Her first film, A Midwife’s Tale, was based on Laurel Thatcher Ulrich's Pulitzer Prize-winning book, and it won an Emmy for Outstanding Nonfiction. Her film TUPPERWARE! won the George Foster Peabody Award and was nominated for the Emmy for Nonfiction Directing. Her most recent film, Love Between the Covers--which takes its viewers into the romance community--was just released by The Orchard. Laurie has worked on the Eyes on the Prize, The American Experience, FRONTLINE’S Crisis in Central America, and All Things Considered. She is a resident scholar at the Women’s Studies Research Center at Brandeis University.
