Ali Benjamin

Ali Benjamin’s debut novel, The Thing About Jellyfish, was a finalist for the 2015 National Book Award for Young People’s Literature. She is the co-author of HIV-positive teen Paige Rawl’s memoir Positive and Tim Howard’s New York Times-bestseller The Keeper. Her writing has appeared in publications including the Boston Globe Magazine and Martha Stewart’s Whole Living, and she served as story researcher and casting director for Sesame Street’s primetime special "Sesame Street: Growing Hope Against Hunger," which won a 2012 Emmy award. In a starred review, Kirkus calls The Thing About Jellyfish a “painful story smartly told” which “has appeal well beyond a middle school audience.”
