Daniel Bergner is a writer and journalist whose work includes What Do Women Want?; In the Land of Magic Soldiers, winner of the Overseas Press Club Award for international reporting and a Lettre-Ulysses Award for the Art of Reportage; and God of the Rodeo, a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. He is a contributing writer for the New York Times Magazine, and his writing has also appeared in the Atlantic, Granta, Harper’s, Mother Jones, Talk, and the New York Times Book Review. His most recent work, Sing for Your Life: A Story of Race, Music, and Family, is a biography of acclaimed bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green’s journey from a rural suburb in Virginia to the Metropolitan Opera stage.
