Elizabeth Nunez

Elizabeth Nunez is a bestselling and award-winning author, distinguished professor of English, and co-founder of the National Black Writers Conference, which she directed for eighteen years with grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Her novels include Boundaries, a New York Times editor’s choice and winner of the 2012 NAACP Image Award, and Anna In-Between, winner of the 2010 PEN Oakland Josephine Miles Award. Her literary criticism has also been published in academic journals, and she served as co-editor of the anthology Blue Latitudes: Caribbean Woman Writers at Home and Abroad. Her most recent work, Even In Paradise, is a modern-day take on King Lear, a novel of greed, resentment, and betrayal set in Trinidad, Jamaica, and Barbados that Kirkus hails in a starred review as a “dazzling, epic triumph.”
