Joy-Ann Reid

Joy-Ann Reid is an author, journalist, and political commentator. Now a national correspondent for MSNBC, she was previously host of The Reid Report, a daily program analyzing the day’s news, as well as managing editor of theGrio.com, a daily online news and opinion platform devoted to representing perspectives and stories that impact African-American audiences. Reid was a 2003 Knight Center for Specialized Journalism fellow, and her writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Miami Herald, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, South Florida Times, and Salon.com. Her first book, Fracture: Barack Obama, the Clintons, and the Racial Divide, examines the complicated relationship between Barack Obama and the Clintons and traces the Democratic Party’s character regarding race, offering valuable historical context heading into the 2016 election.
