In 2012, he was named one of Forbes’s “30 Under 30” media pundits and one of Politico’s ten “breakout reporters.” Prior to joining BuzzFeed to cover the 2012 presidential campaign, Coppins wrote for Newsweek. He is the author of The Wilderness: Deep Inside the Republican Party’s Combative, Contentious, Chaotic Quest to Take Back the White House, which, according to the Chicago Tribune, “goes far to break up sound-bite, Twitter-enabled political messaging.”
