Paul Griffin

Paul Griffin is an author of novels for middle grade and young adults. His work includes Ten Mile River, Adrift, Burning Blue, Stay with Me, and The Orange House, which was named an ALA Best Book for Young Adults Top Ten, an International Reading Association’s 2010 Notable Book for a Global Society, Chicago Public Library’s Best Book of 2009, and an Amelia Bloomer Project award winner. Griffin is also a teacher; he began working with the Creative Arts Team to create conflict resolution workshops aimed at preventing violence, substance abuse, and HIV/AIDS among at-risk and incarcerated young adults. He continues to work with organizations like Behind the Book and Literacy for Incarcerated Teens, teaching workshops that help connect young men and women with needed resources while providing a safe space for them to tell their stories. His most recent work for middle grade readers, When Friendship Followed Me Home, is a touching and honest novel whose protagonist “wrestles with big questions in relatable, realistic ways,” according to a starred review in Publishers Weekly.
