Richard Russo is a novelist, screenwriter, memoirist, and recipient of a 1990 Guggenheim fellowship for fiction. He is the author of seven novels and two collections of short stories, including Empire Falls, which earned the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for fiction and which he adapted into an HBO miniseries, and Nobody’s Fool, also adapted as a film starring Paul Newman. His most recent work, Everybody’s Fool, is a sequel to Nobody’s Fool and a comic and revelatory rendering of blue-collar life in small-town America.
