Rose Styron

Rose Styron is a poet, journalist, and human rights activist whose poetry has been published in four volumes: Summer to Summer, Thieves’ Afternoon, By Vineyard Light, and, most recently, Fierce Day. At the forefront of the field of international human rights, she has served on the board of NGOs including Amnesty International USA, Human Rights Watch, and the Reebok Human Rights Foundation. Her articles on foreign policy have appeared in periodicals including The Nation and The New Republic, and she has chaired PEN’s Freedom to Write Committee, the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award, and, currently, the Academy of American Poets’ Poetry and the Creative Mind.
