Sarah Lewis

Sarah Lewis is a curator, teacher, critic, art historian, and author of The Rise, a celebration of creativity and success through failure. She has held curatorial positions at Tate Modern and the Museum of Modern Art New York, served as a curatorial advisor for Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and on President Obama’s National Arts Policy Committee, and been selected for Oprah’s “Power List.” A critic at the Yale University School of the Arts in the MFA program, her writing has been published in journals and publications including the New York Times, the New Yorker, ArtForum, and Art in America. Most recently, she served as guest editor of Aperture Magazine’s Vision & Justice issue, the topic of her first course at Harvard University and its concurrent exhibition at the Harvard Art Museums.
